Kentucky guards Sahvir Wheeler and TyTy Washington may not be ready to play Saturday against Arkansas, according to coach John Calipari.
Calipari made his comments after the Wildcats’ win over LSU on Tuesday. The Wildcats played well for 38 minutes, but the loss of their two true point guards was felt in the final two minutes as LSU’s press defense almost helped the Tigers pull off an incredible comeback.
Washington and Wheeler have both played about two-thirds of Kentucky’s minutes this season. Without them, the Wildcats lack a true point guard and will again turn to shooting guard Davion Mintz to handle the ball. Small forward Bryce Hopkins and big man Lance Ware saw an increase in minutes against LSU.
